What Are Adopt Me Pet Values & How Are They Calculated?
If you’ve spent any time trading in Adopt Me, you’ve heard players talk about a pet’s “value.” But what does that actually mean, where do these numbers come from, and why do two players sometimes disagree about what the same pet is worth? This guide explains how pet values work, what drives them up and down, and how to use them to trade smarter.
What “value” really means
In Adopt Me, a pet’s value is an estimate of what it’s generally worth in trades — how much other players are willing to give to get it. It’s not an official price. Adopt Me has no in-game marketplace that sets fixed prices, so value is something the community works out collectively through the trades people actually make. Think of it like trading cards or collectibles in the real world: a card doesn’t have a price stamped on it; it’s worth whatever people will reliably trade for it.
Why values exist at all
Without some shared idea of value, trading would be chaos — every deal would be a guess. Values give the community a common language. When a value list says a pet is “high value,” both players in a trade have a reference point, which makes deals faster and fairer. That’s the whole purpose of our pet value list: to give everyone a realistic, up-to-date reference.
What drives a pet’s value
1. Rarity
Pets are graded from Common, Uncommon, and Rare up through Ultra-Rare and Legendary. Rarer pets are harder to obtain, so they generally command higher values. But rarity alone isn’t the whole story — a Legendary that everyone already has can be worth less than a hyped Ultra-Rare.
2. Availability
This is one of the biggest factors. When a pet is no longer obtainable, no new ones enter the game. As players lose or trade them, supply slowly shrinks, and value tends to rise over time. Pets you can still get easily stay cheaper.
3. Demand and popularity
Some pets are simply more wanted than others. A pet with a cute design, a fun feature, or iconic status can be worth more than its rarity suggests, purely because lots of players want it.
4. Variant and add-ons
A pet’s value climbs as it’s upgraded. Neon pets are worth noticeably more than the regular version, and Mega Neon pets are worth more still. Fly and Ride potions add value, and a “Fly Ride” pet is more valuable than one with just one of the two.
How values are calculated
Good value estimates come from watching the market, not from one person’s opinion. The most reliable approach looks at the real trades happening across the community: what players offer, what gets accepted, and what gets turned down. Patterns in that activity reveal what a pet is genuinely worth right now. Because the Adopt Me economy is always moving, values need to be reviewed and updated regularly — which is why we update our list frequently rather than setting numbers once and leaving them.
Why players sometimes disagree on value
- Values change, and not everyone keeps up.
- Demand is personal — someone who really wants a specific pet may “overpay” for it, and that’s fine.
- Some players inflate values to try to win trades. Knowing the real value protects you from this.
How to use values when you trade
Look up both sides of any trade before you accept, run the deal through the trade calculator to see Win, Fair, or Loss instantly, and treat values as a guide rather than gospel. Use them to avoid bad deals, but it’s okay to pay a little extra for a pet you truly want.
Values mentioned are community-based estimates and change over time. Always check current values before trading. AdoptMeValues is an independent fan resource and is not affiliated with Roblox or Adopt Me!.
