Adopt Me Trading Terms & Slang Glossary

Adopt Me trading has its own language. If you’ve ever seen someone type “W or L? NFR, OP imo” and felt completely lost, this glossary is for you. Here are the terms and slang you’ll run into most often, explained in plain English.

Value & trade outcome terms

W / Win: a trade where you receive more value than you give.
F / Fair: both sides are roughly equal in value.
L / Lose: you give more value than you get back.
OP (Overpay): giving more than something is worth — sometimes done on purpose to get a pet you really want.
UP (Underpay): giving less than something is worth.
Add: a small extra item thrown in to balance a trade (“can you add a bit?”).

Pet variant & potion terms

NP (No Potion): a pet with no Fly or Ride potion.
F (Fly): a pet that can fly.
R (Ride): a pet that can be ridden.
FR (Fly Ride): a pet with both potions — the most valuable potion combo.
Neon: a glowing pet made by combining four full-grown pets.
Mega / Mega Neon: made from four Neons — much rarer and more valuable.
NFR / MFR: Neon Fly Ride / Mega Neon Fly Ride — shorthand for a pet’s full form.

Trading & market terms

Demand: how badly players want a pet right now. High demand = easy to trade away.
OG (Original): a pet from an older event or egg that’s no longer obtainable.
Grail: a rare, highly-wanted “dream” pet.
Proofs / Proof: screenshots showing what a pet has traded for, used to back up a value claim.
MM (Middleman): a trusted third party who holds items in a complex trade. Often risky — best avoided unless you truly trust them.
Trade up: turning many smaller pets into fewer, more valuable ones over time.

Safety terms

Scam: any dishonest attempt to take your pets without fair value.
Trust trade: handing a pet over first on a “promise” — almost always a scam. Never do these.
Dupe: a (false) claim that an item was duplicated/hacked — used to scare or confuse traders.
