How to Make a Neon Pet in Adopt Me (Step-by-Step)
Neon pets are one of the best ways to turn ordinary pets into something more valuable — and making your own is often cheaper than trading for one. Here’s exactly how to do it, step by step.
What you need
To make one Neon pet, you need four of the same pet, each aged all the way to Full Grown. They don’t need potions or to be Neon themselves — just four full-grown copies of the same pet.
Step 1: Get four of the same pet
Hatch, trade for, or buy four identical pets. Common and uncommon pets are the cheapest to gather, which is why many traders make Neons out of cheaper pets to build up value.
Step 2: Age each pet to Full Grown
Every pet grows through these stages by completing tasks (the icons above the pet):
Newborn → Junior → Pre-Teen → Teen → Post-Teen → Full Grown.
Take care of all four pets — feeding, bathing, sleeping, and so on — until each reaches Full Grown. This is the slow part, but it’s exactly why Neons are worth more: the effort.
Step 3: Go to the Neon Cave
The Neon Cave is found underground via the bridge in the central area of the map. Head down and you’ll see four pads in a circle.
Step 4: Combine
Place each of your four full-grown pets on the pads. Once all four are placed, you’ll be able to combine them into a single Neon version of that pet, which glows.
How to make a Mega Neon
A Mega Neon takes it further: you need four full-grown Neon pets (which means sixteen original pets in total). Make four Neons, age each of them to Full Grown again, then combine those four Neons in the Neon Cave the same way. The result is a Mega Neon that cycles through colours — much rarer and more valuable.
Is it worth it?
Making Neons yourself is cheaper in pets but expensive in time. It’s a great strategy for turning low-value commons into something worth trading up with. If you want a specific Mega Neon quickly, trading for it may be faster — check what it’s worth first on our value list and compare any deal with the trade calculator.
